Terms & Conditions

Last updated: January 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Thalassa's charter services. By making a booking or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms set out below. Please take a moment to read them — and feel free to ask us if anything is unclear before you confirm.

1. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed once Thalassa has received a written confirmation and any applicable deposit. Availability is not held until this stage is complete. We will confirm your booking in writing (email or message) within one business day of receiving your deposit.

All bookings are subject to weather, sea conditions, and vessel availability. We will contact you as early as possible if any circumstances require adjustments.

2. Pricing and Payment

Prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of the items described for each charter type. Additional services or requests made during the charter may be subject to separate charges, which will be communicated in advance.

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. We accept bank transfer and cash. Details will be provided with your booking confirmation.

3. Cancellation and Changes

Cancellations by the guest

If you need to reschedule, we will do our best to accommodate an alternative date at no additional charge, subject to availability.

Cancellations by Thalassa

If we cancel a charter due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund or the option to rebook at no cost. If a charter is cancelled or shortened due to weather or sea conditions that affect guest safety, we will refund a proportionate amount or offer a rescheduled trip at your preference.

4. Guest Conduct and Safety

The captain and crew have authority over vessel operations and guest safety at all times. Guests are expected to follow safety instructions, crew guidance, and any reasonable direction related to vessel management.

Thalassa reserves the right to refuse boarding or return to port if guests engage in behaviour that poses a risk to themselves, others, or the vessel. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

5. Liability

Thalassa maintains appropriate vessel insurance and operates with crew certified to Thai maritime standards. However, guests participate in activities at sea at their own risk. Thalassa is not liable for personal injury, illness, or loss of personal belongings except where directly caused by crew negligence.

We strongly recommend that guests hold personal travel insurance covering water-based activities.

6. Damage to the Vessel

Guests are responsible for damage to the vessel or its equipment caused by negligent or intentional misuse. Thalassa will provide a written assessment of any damage within 48 hours of the charter's end. Disputes will be handled fairly and transparently.

7. Itinerary Adjustments

Charter routes and anchorages are planned in advance but may be adjusted based on weather, sea conditions, or safety considerations. The captain may alter the itinerary at their discretion to ensure guest comfort and wellbeing. Such adjustments do not constitute grounds for a refund unless the overall duration is significantly reduced.

8. Photography and Media

Guests are welcome to photograph and record during their charter for personal use. Thalassa may take photographs during charters for use in marketing materials. If you would prefer not to be included, please let us know before departure and we will respect your preference.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising from charter services will be addressed through good-faith discussion. Where formal resolution is required, this will take place under Thai jurisdiction.

10. Amendments

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your charter.
