Our Story
Built by people who know these waters
Thalassa has been chartering the Gulf of Thailand from South Pattaya since 2016. What started as a single-vessel operation has grown into a small fleet with a crew that returns season after season.

Our Background
A company shaped by time on the water
Thalassa was founded in 2016 by two long-time Pattaya residents who had spent years crewing on private charters and commercial dive boats across the Gulf. The idea was simple: run well-maintained vessels with a crew that understood the local waters, and offer guests the kind of day that didn't require them to think about logistics.
The early years focused on bay cruises and day trips to Koh Larn. As the operation grew, the fleet expanded and multi-day itineraries became part of what we offer — opening up the quieter island clusters that most visitors don't reach on standard tours.
Our approach hasn't changed much since those early trips. We keep the fleet in good condition, hire crew members with meaningful sea experience, and put together itineraries that work with the conditions rather than against them. When the weather shifts, routes shift. When guests want to linger somewhere, the schedule adjusts.
South Pattaya remains our home port. The Gulf has been kind to us, and we remain attentive to the waters, seasons, and weather patterns that shape every trip we run.
Mission
To provide well-prepared, well-crewed charters on the Gulf of Thailand that give guests genuine time on the water — without the friction that often comes with boat travel in a busy tourist area.
Vision
A Gulf of Thailand where small-group yacht charters are known for their quality and attentiveness — and where Thalassa is the name that comes to mind first among those who take the sea seriously.
Values
Straightforward communication, well-maintained equipment, safety as a baseline rather than an upsell, and genuine care for what guests experience on board.
The Crew
People you'll spend your day with
The Thalassa crew is small by design. Each member brings specific knowledge of the Gulf and the consistency that comes from returning season after season.
Prayut Keeratisak
Captain & Co-Founder
Prayut has been navigating the Gulf of Thailand for over eighteen years. He grew up in Chon Buri, worked commercial fishing vessels in his twenties, and transitioned to private charter work when Thalassa launched.
Siriporn Wattanaporn
Operations & Guest Experience
Siriporn handles bookings, route planning, and onboard catering coordination. She joined Thalassa in 2018 after several years in Pattaya hospitality and has shaped much of the service quality guests notice.
Nattapong Chairat
First Mate & Dive Guide
Nattapong manages deck operations and leads snorkeling briefings on Koh Larn and outer-reef stops. PADI-certified and familiar with the seasonal reef conditions around the Pattaya islands.
Standards We Hold
How we prepare every charter
These aren't policies written for show — they reflect the practical habits we've developed from years of running charters in conditions that don't always cooperate.
Pre-charter vessel inspection
The vessel is checked before each departure — engines, fuel, bilge, safety gear, and galley supplies. Anything below standard is addressed before guests board.
Safety equipment compliance
Life jackets for every guest (including children), first aid kit, flares, fire extinguishers, and a VHF radio are standard on every trip. Equipment is inspected and replaced on schedule.
Weather monitoring protocol
The captain reviews marine weather forecasts the evening before and the morning of departure. Trips are adjusted or rescheduled when conditions fall below safety thresholds.
Licensed crew and vessel
All captains hold Thai Marine Department licences. The vessel carries current registration and insurance. Crew safety training is refreshed annually.
Environmental awareness
We do not anchor on coral or allow waste disposal at sea. Guests are briefed on reef etiquette at snorkeling stops. We aim to leave the water and islands as we find them.
Guest privacy and data handling
Booking information is held only as long as needed for the charter and follow-up communication. We do not share contact details with third parties. Full details in our privacy policy.
About Our Operation
Yacht chartering on the Gulf of Thailand
Pattaya's position on the eastern Gulf of Thailand makes it one of Southeast Asia's most accessible starting points for day and multi-day boat travel. The bay itself offers calm, sheltered conditions for much of the year. Koh Larn, fifteen minutes offshore, has beaches that vary considerably around the island's perimeter — something a well-crewed private charter can take advantage of in ways that a public ferry cannot.
Beyond Koh Larn, the islands further east receive significantly less boat traffic. Outer reefs and quieter anchorages are more accessible by private yacht than by any other means from Pattaya. Multi-day itineraries through these areas offer a materially different experience from anything available through conventional tourist infrastructure.
Thalassa's crew brings combined sea experience that spans commercial fishing, dive instruction, and hospitality. That combination shapes how the company operates: practically, with care for guest experience, and with respect for the water and the people who work on it.
